    What You'll Do

    You will be working under the general supervision of the Cash Application Team Lead. As the Cash Application Specialist, you will perform a variety of duties related to posting payments. You will investigate and reconcile patient accounts as needed. You will provide support to the Accounting Department.

    • Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts from all insurance payers.
    • Post check payments from patients, facilities, and patient representatives/payees.
    • Review all remittance advices for accuracy to identify errors or questionable data.
    • Research and resolve unapplied/unidentified cash receipts.
    • Reconciles payments and shortages for both paper and electronic Explanation of Benefits (EOB's).
    • Prepare Deposit Summary Sheet for each batch.
    • Meet individual and team goals with minimal errors.
    • Uphold Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA compliance guidelines in relation to billing, collections, and PHI information

    Who You Are

    • Associates Degree required or comparable work experience.
    • EXCEL and Data Entry experience is a MUST
    • 1-3 years combination of Cash Posting and Clerical experience.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to type 50 wpm.
    • Strong collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personalities.
    • Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize and manage various work assignments in a fast paced, high volume environment.
    • Cash Application (Accounts Receivable Clerk) experience preferred.
    • Home health and/or hospice billing and collection experience, including processing claim rejections and denials with Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Payor
